Spark Inventory

The inventory system to recommend
to clients who hold stock.

Spark Inventory runs stock, purchasing, sales, and manufacturing for product businesses, and sends clean invoices, bills, and credit notes to QuickBooks Online, Xero, or Zoho Books. Your clients get a real inventory system. You get books that tie out.

Where client inventory breaks the books

You already know which clients need an inventory system.

They are the ones whose month-end takes twice as long. The inventory number is a guess, COGS is a plug, and the fix always lands on your desk.

Stock lives in a spreadsheet

The inventory balance on the balance sheet is whatever the last count said, and nobody is sure when that was.

Sales post as lump deposits

Shopify, Amazon, and wholesale orders land as payouts, so cost of goods sold is estimated instead of matched to what shipped.

Freight and duties go missing

Shipping and import costs are expensed on arrival instead of added to the cost of the goods they brought in.

Year-end counts don't reconcile

A large shrink adjustment appears every year and nobody can say which products or locations it came from.

Manufacturers can't value work in progress

Raw materials, sub-assemblies, and finished goods blur together when components are consumed off the books.

Cash is tied up in overbuying

You see the inventory line growing faster than sales before the owner does, but there is no plan to point to.

What Spark sends to the books

Operations in Spark. The ledger stays yours.

Spark does not replace your client's accounting software. It records the operational work and sends the accounting documents it creates to the general ledger, with a sync history you can check.

Built for numbers you can sign off on

Inventory that arrives in the books already right.

Landed cost on receipts

Allocate shipping, duties, and other expenses to purchase orders so inventory carries its true cost.

Valuation and COGS reports

Inventory valuation, COGS, and other financial summaries ready for month-end and year-end.

Chart of accounts mapping

Map Spark transactions to the client's chart of accounts so every document lands in the right place.

Audit trail

A complete transaction history with timestamps and users, so you can see who changed what and when.

Multi-currency and tax rates

Transactions in multiple currencies with exchange rate updates, and tax rates set per jurisdiction.

Sync history you can check

Every document Spark sends to the books is listed, so a missing invoice is a lookup, not an investigation.

For manufacturing clients

Multi-level bills of materials, manufacturing orders, and component availability on the Scale plan. Raw materials, sub-assemblies, and finished goods are tracked in the same system as the rest of the client's stock, so component consumption is recorded rather than estimated.

Advisory, not just cleanup

Spark forecasts demand per SKU and recommends what to reorder and when. That gives you a concrete basis for cash and purchasing conversations with clients. The free forecasting plan is an easy first step: it shows dead stock, days of supply, and a monthly buying plan from the data the client already has.

Accountant FAQ

What accountants ask before recommending Spark

Accounting integrations, landed cost and COGS, manufacturing, client access, and how the partner program works.

What inventory software works with QuickBooks Online, Xero, and Zoho Books?

Spark Inventory connects to QuickBooks Online, Xero, and Zoho Books. Spark sends invoices, bills, credit notes, and other accounting documents to the books, with a sync history you can check. QuickBooks can also bring in sales and purchase history when a client first connects.

Does Spark replace my client's accounting software?

No. Spark runs the operational side: stock by location, purchasing, receiving, sales orders, and manufacturing. QuickBooks Online, Xero, or Zoho Books stays the general ledger, and Spark sends it the documents those operations create.

When should a client move inventory out of their accounting software?

Usually when inventory stops fitting in the books: the client sells on several channels, holds stock in more than one location, reorders from suppliers on a regular cycle, or builds products from components. At that point stock counts, purchase orders, and COGS need a system built for inventory, with the ledger kept in sync.

How does Spark handle landed cost and COGS?

Spark allocates shipping, duties, and other expenses to purchase orders so landed cost is recorded on receipts. Inventory valuation and COGS reports summarize stock value and cost of goods sold for the books.

Can Spark track raw materials and finished goods for manufacturing clients?

Yes. Spark supports multi-level bills of materials, manufacturing orders, and component availability on the Scale plan, so raw materials, sub-assemblies, and finished goods are tracked in the same system as the rest of the client's inventory.

Can I see my client's inventory data in Spark?

Yes. Your client can add you to their Spark account as a user, and paid plans include unlimited users. You can also connect Claude, ChatGPT, or another approved AI assistant to Spark over MCP with read-only access to ask questions about the data.

How do accountants and bookkeepers earn by recommending Spark?

Through the Spark partner program. As an agency or consultant partner: Your clients are billed by Spark. You earn 20% of every month they pay, for as long as they stay. If you prefer to make introductions only, the referral partnership pays a one-time bounty for every referral that becomes a paying customer.

What does Spark cost my client?

Clients can start on the free forecasting plan, which shows a per-SKU forecast, seasonal curves, and a monthly buying plan from their existing data. The Solo, Operate, and Scale plans include a 14-day free trial. Current prices are on the Spark pricing page.
